One man was stopped who had driven 200 miles to walk in the hills, as well as a minibus of people from Gloucestershire

Police have turned visitors away from the Brecon Beacons after hikers drove as far as 200 miles to walk in the snowy Welsh hills in defiance of Covid restrictions.

Though Wales is in lockdown, Dyfed-Powys police said one man drove from Hertfordshire in England to walk up Pen-y-Fan, the highest peak in southern Britain. Hertfordshire is under English tier 4 “stay at home” restrictions.
